Summer Referee Highlights: Celebrating Minnesota's Success

It has been an exciting summer for Minnesota's referee community, with officials earning prestigious assignments, receiving well-deserved recognition, and continuing to develop their skills through elite training opportunities. We are proud to celebrate the accomplishments of several outstanding referees and highlight the incredible opportunities available to officials across our state.

National Final Assignments

Congratulations to Logan Alger, who was selected as Assistant Referee 2 (AR2) for the U19 Girls Premier Final in Tennessee. Receiving a championship final assignment is a significant achievement and reflects Logan's hard work, dedication, and continued growth as a referee.

Congratulations also to Jonah Hamberger, who was appointed Assistant Referee 1 (AR1) for the U17 Girls Premier Final in Tennessee. This prestigious assignment is a testament to Jonah's commitment to excellence and the confidence placed in his abilities at the national level.

USA Cup Recognition

We would also like to recognize Blake Sauve, who was named Best Minnesota Referee at this year's USA Cup. This honor recognizes Blake's outstanding performance, professionalism, and dedication throughout one of the nation's largest youth soccer tournaments. Congratulations, Blake, on this well-deserved recognition!

USA Cup Referee Academy

This summer also featured another successful USA Cup Referee Academy, providing an incredible learning experience for referees looking to develop their skills and advance their officiating careers.

The academy welcomed National Referee Coaches, Referee Coaches from across the United States, and representatives from the Referees Abroad (RAF) program in England. Referees traveled from across our region, and even as far away as Japan, to participate in this unique development opportunity.

The USA Cup Referee Academy provides officials with valuable instruction, mentorship, and coaching in a competitive yet supportive environment. It offers referees the opportunity to receive feedback from some of the game's top instructors while gaining experience that can help prepare them for future opportunities and higher levels of competition.
