BECOME A REFEREE
INSTRUCTIONS
New Referee courses have been added for November & December 2024
View below or download our step-by-step instructions for assistance with getting started:
STEP ONE
CREATE YOUR PROFILE
To begin, you'll need to create a Referee Profile with the U.S. Soccer Learning Center website.

You must be a minimum of 13 years old to certify when you start the process… there are no exceptions!

You'll want to sign up using the referee's name and DOB (not the parent or guardian). If under 18 years old, you must add a parent or guardian’s email address to your profile as well.
STEP TWO
SET RELATIONSHIP
Click Profile > Relationships. You should see “Minnesota State Referee Committee” listed as one of your relationships. If you do not see it, please click on “Manage My Relationships,” search for Minnesota State Referee Committee, and add it to your Relationships. This will allow the SRA to track your account if you need help. If you do not have Minnesota State Referee Committee listed in your Relationships, the SRA will be unable to view your profile and will be unable to provide any assistance at all.
STEP THREE
COURSE REGISTRATION
New classes for the 2025 certification year will be offered starting in July 2024.

Go to Courses > Available Courses. Read the information on the Grassroots First-Time Referees Page. When you are ready to look for a class and register to begin online work, click on “Go to Course List.”

On this page there will usually be several classroom sessions posted (we try to post classes at least three months in advance) along with a course labeled “ONLINE GRASSROOTS MODULE.”
Please make sure the Host field says “Minnesota State Referee Committee.”
